Paper reports featured how doctors and their colleagues learned on how to improve the necessary surgical techniques as they attempted to reimplant 18 disunited penises.
In the 1970s, mortefied Thai wife waits until her husband fell asleep, by using a kitchen knife, she cuts off his penis. In 1998 in the journal Nursing Connections, an article called "Factors Associated with Penile Amputation in Thailand" was published. Gregory Bechtel and Cecilia Tiller, from the Medical College of Georgia (Atlanta), gathered data from the divorced three couples who had been part of the epidemic. Bechtel and Tiller reported that the three things that caused them to separate were: "(1) a financial crisis; (2) intake of drugs or alcohol by the husband; and (3) public dishonor of the wife due to the presence of a second 'wife' or mistress."
The report explains, for readers in other countries: The Thai saying, "I better get home or the ducks will have something to eat,' is therefore a common joke understood at all levels of society". How? since the area under a thai traditional house is the home of the family chickens, ducks or pigs. It's quite usual that it may be captured by a duck when the disunited penis is throwned out of the window.
